ExtraEnergy, a non-profit organisation based in Germany that tests and disseminates information on electric light vehicles, has rated the new E-Motion Folding as very good and the E-Motion City Lux as good. This shows how strong BH has grown in the field of electric bikes.

ExtraEnergy has tested nearly fifty models from top makers and published the resulting reports in its specialist magazine, classified by types of products: sports, comfort, tour, utility…

The test results are summarised in three short phrases: “no recommendation,” “good,” and “very good.” The E-Motion City Lux has been rated as “good” again, as it was last year, while the new E-motion Folding has been rated as “very good.”

In the vanguard of folding bikes

It is an important recognition for this new compact tour bike. “We’re very happy,” remarks BH Bikes Europe’s Unai de la Fuente. “I must say we analyse which models can do well in the market, which are better than products from rival companies, and those are the ones we deliver for testing. The market niche for folding bikes is big and there is tough competition from other companies, so I think we’ve got a great rating here.” ExtraEnergy must have considered the facts that the BH models are easy to handle and have great autonomy.

As to the E-Motion City Lux, being rated as “good” is quite an achievement; it shows BH is in the vanguard of ebikes. “The ebike market is highly competitive. Every manufacturer has not one but several models in the same price range and style, so the rating we’ve got means we-re in a very good position,” De la Fuente adds.

Test passed (with flying colours)

“We’re really happy with the ratings awarded to our two models. They’ve passed demanding, in-depth tests that evaluate ergonomics, power, assistance factor, conformity to standards, price, market position, and so forth. The tests take a long time. We’d delivered the bikes in October and they published the report only in February,” De la Fuente explains.

ExtraEnergy needs two bikes, “one of them is used for test rides to see what happens when the battery ceases to assist, how the vehicle performs under extreme temperatures, etc. There’re around thirty people testing the different models,” he adds. And the BH E-Motion models have passed the tests with flying colours.

The seals awarded by ExtraEnergy prove BH’s commitment to quality and to ebikes, a segment in which our international firm has been growing to become a leading manufacturer. And if this is not enough, take a look at the new hit, the NEO range, with a totally removable battery integrated into the down tube, among other interesting features. At BH we have gone electric!
